Topping-out ceremony in Østerbro CPH

At Østre Gasværk Teater in central Østerbro, Copenhagen, NRE is currently in the process of building 166 apartments on behalf of AP Ejendomme. The construction of the building has now progressed so far, that the craftsmen's work has been celebrated with a topping-out ceremony.

In connection with the construction of the appartments, a rehearsal hall for the theatre, a parking facility and 67 social housing appartments will also be built.

The residential area Grunwalds Have is named after the actor Morten Grunwald, who for a number of years was the director of Østre Gasværk Theatre. The 166 homes are so-called 'small living homes', which will range from 35-50 square meters in size.

Peter Olsson, CEO of AP Ejendomme, is pleased that Grunwalds Have has now reached the point that a topping-out ceremony has been held for the building.

- Grunwalds Have has an extremely attractive location, where the residents will live in the middle of Østerbro with a short distance to Østerbrogade on one side and the new district of Nordhavn on the other side. We believe that the 'small living homes' will be a good supplement to the area, and we are experiencing a great interest from potential tenants, says Peter Olsson about the homes, which will be certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

The turnkey contractor NRE Group originally developed the project, and Peter Olsson is very pleased with the collaboration and the work that the craftsmen are doing on the project.

- NRE has been a crucial factor in our work with Grunwald's Have today, and we are very pleased with the work that NRE is doing. NRE manages to realize the many plans that we have for Grunwald's Have in the best possible way. Therefore, we have no doubt that it will be a project that will fit well with the rest of the area, says Peter Olsson.

At NRE Group, there is also great satisfaction with the project.

It has therefore also been very satisfying to see how the construction has grown. We are pleased that we, together with AP Ejendomme, can help build the attractive homes so centrally in Østerbro. As part of the agreement for Grunwalds Have, AP Ejendomme is also building a rehearsal hall for Østre Gasværk Theatre, which since 1979 has been located in Martin Nyrop's iconic gas canister on the Østre Gasværk site. At the Property Foundation Østre Gasværk, which once received Martin Nyrop's gas canister and the 15,000 square meters of surrounding area as a gift from the City of Copenhagen, they are happy with the project.

- We have followed the project for Grunwald's Garden closely, and it is gratifying that the construction has now come to the point where the topping-out ceremony has been held. It lives up to the thoughts and visions we have been presented with. At the same time, it is extremely gratifying that Østre Gasværk Theatre will have a new and modern rehearsal hall, which we are sure will benefit the theatre greatly.
